Poppies Porch

The name Poppies Porch originates from the nickname given to the owner, Roger Gilcash of Poppy by his grandchildren. Following Roger’s retirement, he needed something to do with his time; pairing his former business experience and his passion for woodworking, he opened Poppies Porch Craft Shop.
Poppies Porch is very well known in the Kensington region for their hand-crafted Adirondack chairs, made from local cedar, and created with the utmost comfort in mind. Their Adirondack chairs are far from the only beautiful product offered, from handmade cribbage boards to lovely mugs, Poppies Porch is a must-visit stop in PEI. Roger visited CBDC Central PEI in 2019 to secure financing for his annual inventory needs and praised our team for being approachable and easy to work with.
One of Roger’s favourite parts of his business is the ability to see the satisfied look on his customers’ faces as well as being able to work with his team on a regular basis. Roger is fulfilled with his business and wants to continue developing and expanding his product offering within the future. Poppies Porch Craft Shop is a great showcase of the many amazing products that come from Atlantic Canadian artisans, highlighting PEI’s renowned support for local creators.
